Frequently Asked Questions:

Basic Tub Features

How does the water tight door work?

The Bliss Tubs water tight door forms a hydrostatic seal when the door is closed and latched.   Additionally, the weight of water inside the tub further compresses the door seal making it completely leak proof.  Bliss Tubs guarantees the door seal for life.

Can the Bliss Tub be used as a shower?

Yes, the Bliss Tub deluxe faucet set comes with an extendable/retractable hand-held showerhead that is typically mounted onto the deck of the tub.  If you choose, your installer can mount the hand held showerhead on the wall.

How are Bliss walk-in tubs installed?

A Bliss walk in tub can be installed by any capable, licensed plumber. Because Bliss walk in bathtubs fit regular tub spaces, no remodeling is needed.  All Bliss Tubs come in both left-hand and right-hand versions.  Included with every tub delivery is a set of extensions that will enable an existing, standard bathtub space to accommodate the walk-in tub.  Additionally, Bliss Tubs can put you in touch with a capable installer serving your locality.

Acrylic versus Fiberglass

Acrylic walk-in bathtubs now on the market are actually acrylic material extruded over fiberglass. Such acrylic product is the cheapest form of acrylic. The extruded acrylic surface coating is the same thickness as gel coat fiberglass. In fact the acrylic and gel coat products are equally susceptible to surface scratching and require non abrasive cleaners. Damage to the acrylic surface is almost impossible to repair and color match. The Bliss gel coat fiberglass bathtub is easy to repair if damaged and has a higher gloss finish.

Once I have ordered my Bliss walk-in tub, how long will it be before I receive it?

Delivery time for a Bliss walk-in tub averages about ten to fourteen days from time of order.

What tests are performed before the tubs are shipped?

All Bliss Tubs are inspected and tested 100% at our California facility prior to shipment to our customers.  Each tub’s watertight integrity is thoroughly tested as are any installed massage systems.

Tubs with Massage Options

Air-Jetted Tubs vs. Water-Jetted Tubs:  Which is Better?

When deciding whether to choose a luxury tub with air jets or water jets, consider the following:  Are you wanting a pulsating vigorous massage directly to certain areas of the body? This can be achieved with a water-jetted whirlpool. If your main goal is relaxation, then an air-jetted tub is the way to go. Air tubs work on massaging the nerve endings and offer a much lighter massage than water jets. The air bubbles cling to the skin to promote circulation. An added benefit with air-jets is that bath salts and oils can be used. The “purging system” blows all channels clear after your bath.

The Bliss Dual Massage System, combining water and air massage systems, offers both a soothing, invigorating water premium jet massage along with an all over, gentle air massage from our five star air bubble system.

An air jet system can give your tub general bubbling action that may be soothing, but water jets create a more therapeutic massage.

In general, air jet systems are considerably easier to clean and maintain.  With a hydro-massage system, one should not use oil or oil based bath additives.  However, a small amount of low-foaming powder or crystal substance can be used.  Once a month, the entire system should be purged using liquid automatic dishwashing detergent.

Is there anything the installer needs to know before a Bliss Tub with massage options is delivered?

Yes, the installer will need one dedicated 20 amp circuit on a GFI (ground fault interrupt).  Completed installation instructions and an operating manual are provided with each purchase.

Do Bliss walk-in tubs have an electrical safety certification?

Yes, Bliss Tubs is one of the few walk-in tub manufacturers with a UL certification.  The UL listing provides you and your customers with a very strong indication of the safety of a Bliss walk-in tub.

UL is an independent product safety certification organization who has been testing and evaluating products for over 116 years. They are world-regarded as the best in the business.

More specifically, UL does extensive testing of a product against UL safety standards. If the product is approved, the product is labeled with a UL Listing Mark.

Look for this UL Listing Mark…don’t buy a Walk In Tub that doesn’t have this mark prominently displayed in their website, literature and on the tub.
